This was not as good as I remember it being 10 years ago.

If you love the Hunger Games, then you'll love this book. Its a fun book to read. While its not earth-shattering, its engaging and it held my attention to the last page.

While reading I wasn't sure if I should give this novel four stars or five stars, but having just finished it I can honestly say that I thoroughly enjoyed it, enough to give it five stars. I can see why other people who like books I like would like Divergent. It's narrated in the first-person-present by a dynamic, surprisingly relatable badass. I remember noticing how Tris sees how others see her, or just realizing the characters' relationships were the sort of thing I could easily understand...I like that sort of thing. I'm excited for the sequel.

I’m not a big fan of books that are meant to be “action” and then turn out to be romance but I loved the idea of this book and it made me feel excited for what was going to happen next. I also don’t read dystopian much (as in basically never) but I loved this and now I want to read hunger games because this reminds me of it. I only watched the hunger games movies…

The whole series disappointed me. I just never got into it, and didn't like the characters that much.

One thing I know: Beatrice "Tris" Prior is no Katniss Everdeen.

Divergent has a slow start, and a less-than-compelling middle, but the latter third introduces enough interesting twists that I can definitely see myself picking up the next book in the series.

It does have one lovely idea that sticks with you after the last page, though: that selflessness and bravery aren't so very different.

This book is a great start to the series. I took me 4 days to read... and only because I had my birthday party and friends over, any other weekend I would've finished it sooner :P
I can't wait to watch the film, from what we've seen I think it will be great.
