This one was alright for me. As someone who enjoyed the "Frozen" movie, the book was exactly what I expected it to be: a retelling of the film with some slight changes due to the "What If..." scenario these books like to present themselves as.

As for the "What If..." scenario itself, Anna and Elsa growing up apart without their memory of each other leads to some interesting twists and turns. One of my favorite aspects of the film was seeing scenes from the film recreated but with that slight twist of a change. Sometimes it's nothing more than an homage, but other times I would argue it creates scenes better than the film they came from.

That's all for now. I plan to go more into it on my new blog in the future. All I will say is that if you are a mega Disney fan, especially in regards to Frozen, then this will be fun for you. If you're someone who doesn't necessarily care for Frozen all that much or downright hate it due to all the popularity and hype the film received over the years, then this isn't a must read by any means.

Riassunto: sembra una fanfiction.
In molte parti sono state riprese scene del film ripetendo addirittura le stesse frasi, nonostante i leggerissimi cambiamenti per adeguarle alla trama: questo non l'ho notato in As Old as Time in quanto, anche se riprendeva a sua volta alcune sscene del film, non sembrava copiare ogni singola parola (non so se con Let it Go me ne sono accorta perché ormai so lo script a memoria, ma non penso). Inoltra ci sono tentativi di citare le canzoni che rendono il libro cringe: quando Elsa scappa sulla Montaglia del Nord c'è letteralmente scritto "the mountain was a kingdom of isolation, and it looked like she was the queen" e "She wasn't even tired. And the cold never bothered her, anyway", e da qui ho capito che non potevo dare più di una stella.

This retelling of the Frozen storyline really is a nice read! It tells the story of Elsa and Anna we all know, with just a small difference: they don't know/remember each other and didn't grow up together. The sisters must find each other to lift the curse they've been living with for years. Will they succeed..?

I really liked this book. It's originally for young readers and also part of a series of 'Twisted Tales'. I think these young readers will absolutely love this book, as well as the rest of the series. For me it was an easy read and I enjoyed it (well, what can I say? I love Frozen🤷🏼‍♀️❄️).

I enjoy these, but this one was so on the nose with the Frozen plot. Maybe more like a 3.5
