A good story, and a quick read. I like the characters too.

Better than the first one, it felt like there was some plot movement. Still super short chapters which made it feel like a faster read.

I enjoyed this sequel. I still feel that I want the story faster.. each book doesn't cover enough. 06/05/2006

i still think i would have enjoyed these books more as an actual young adult rather then the stunted adult i eventually became but i am finding these books to be an entertaining and surprisingly refreshing literary diversion. this was charming and perhaps not the most common praise for a "thriller" but it's cute. i am now considering recommending these books to anyone i know with an active inner child.

The weakest of the original trilogy in my opinion? But still MILES better than later entries and solid overall. There's a scene that technically counts as self-harm in this book and I still think about it and the legitimately emotional reaction I had to it as a kid, and the way I FELT for Max genuinely.
