I tried, I really did! I wanted to love this series and parts of it are fantastic but honestly this book just felt SOOO REPETITIVE! Battle gods do something el and cas do it, battle gods do something etc etc. I just don’t have the time to read something I am not enjoying.

I was really disappointed by this. I was so close to finishing it, but the characters fell into a predictable rhythm. The book could have benefitted by other POVs because it felt like we had learned all we could about the two main characters. The romance severed were also repetitive and felt out of place. I unfortunately will not be finishing this series with only one book left.

Big action happened at the end of the previous book/ the beginning of this book, and after that it got very slow.  I got distracted a bit and zoned out,  but in general I really liked this series.

“The Queen of the Dawn” is the last book in S.M. Gaither’s Shadows and Crowns series, and for me, it was beautifully intense and incredibly bittersweet. Casia and Elander really had to prove themselves, and they both went through so much in this one. There were some moments that made me extremely emotional, and others where I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. Gaither somehow managed to keep me guessing with all the twists and turns this story took me on, and in the end, I even felt empathy for a character I was sure I hated. This world and these characters have become so special to me, and I know this series will live rent free in my mind for a very long time. To sum it up, this was such a brilliant conclusion to this series, and I would highly recommend it to any fantasy romance lover!!!
