A cute, imaginative story about a boy who wants a star for his own, so he can be friends with it. The ending was pretty cute, and I was happy. The illustrations were pretty fun, and fit in perfectly with the imaginative story.

Vaguely cute art. I wanted to like this. I also wanted to hate this. Basically a silly. But I'm thinking this book would morph into whatever you wanted it to be. I'm thinking the star at the end was a starfish. Maybe it was? Maybe it wasn't. Meh.

Oh goodness yes! This little story is achingly sweet and wistful. Only a true artist can do so much with so little... sparse text, illustrations pared down to the very minimum. And yet there's a wealth of emotion, color, beauty. A masterpiece. Thank you Mr. Jeffers.

This is a wonderfully tender book, not fully on par with [b:Lost and Found|301141|Lost and Found|Oliver Jeffers|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1173536266s/301141.jpg|1410555], but with the same Boy, who just likes to make friends.
What I mainly love is the artwork. It's minimalistic and distinct, with hints of abstract, particularly in the trees.
