Book is a drug and I'm addicted...
But damn...
A little bit ;)
They fight and they win. They are not scared to provoke, but most importantly they don't run after they are in trouble!
I'm innnnn loooooooveeeeee with that!!!!
And the tension between Darius and Tory is AGHH.
Also, I veryyy ship Geraldine with Max, because in my opinion theyreee perrrrfeecccct.
I LOVE IT!!!!!
What an old creepy shiny lizard is he!!!!!
Nah I'm not angry 🙂🙂🙂🙂
I'm writing a sentence for the fourth time because I don't have words...
This book is everything to me and I heard that book 7 is VERY sad and I'm not okay already, are you kidding me??? It was just book three! I will be obsessed even more???

Did I make Hogwarts comparisons before? Well, the Reckoning is only like that if Voldemort and Severus Snape ran Hogwarts and instead of OWLs made the students take exams in the form of cruel hazing combined with incessant Triwizard tournament tasks that put them in all kinds of mortal danger. As if Hogwarts wasn’t dangerous enough. And oh, if Voldy and Snape were more the morally grey (okay black) antihero/villains of the sexy persuasion. It is all ridiculously insane and insanely ridiculous and I now find myself wishing I’d gotten a letter to ZA 🤭
Orion is unhinged as ever and switches between his grumpy psycho and hot competent teacher persona so quick it gives me whiplash. Every time I feel like I can get on the Darius train, he does something less than impressive to derail it but I still want to see him do better. Caleb has me confused because he can be sweet dammit, if poisonously so. Seth and Max are still by turns, annoying and sympathetic. The entire cast of characters gets more and more fleshed out.
My forbidden ship sailed (for the most part) and the other one(s) pulled me in several different directions, but I do have strong theories about two couples and a certain drawn out inevitability is driving me absolutely feral. Darcy is relatable and I’m half in love with Tory, and both are certified badasses. Also I called their Order right from the start HA! I love being right. Even when they both throw caution to the wind with some questionable decisions, they’re self aware enough to know what they’re doing and smart enough to deal with the consequences like adults. And I’m self aware enough to know I’m a little (or a lot) fucked in the head to enjoy the shit that goes on within the confines of the academy, and beyond.
In fact I wouldn’t even recommend this series for everyone because you need to be good with a certain level of moral turpitude in your fiction because it does get dark and dramatic up in this bitch. Whatever tentative camaraderie and shaky bonds are made seem to dissolve into dust every turn, and any peace is temporary at best. These Fae really are ruthless, unbound by and uncaring of the rules of mortals. But it’s also darkly funny? If you’re into that type of thing, you’re in for a wild and thrilling ride. As exhilarating as the reckoning itself is, a lot of other information is thrown at us in this one, the web of secrets gets further tangled, more violence, more cruelty, more family drama. It meanders at times, but I was still wholly immersed by the world building and breakneck hurtling towards disasters that seems to be a defining trait of these books.
