A dark novel exploring the adventures of one ragtag team of middle school boys. I found the book to be dark and emotional, but it described the lives of young boys in that period in rural America perfectly.

A perfect read as summer slips into autumn. This coming of age story grapples with mortality and how friendships come and go in our lives, but leave lasting imprints that are often hard to put into words.

Masterful storytelling, but I feel that I wouldn't have been able to visualize the characters as well without the movie.

Amazing story of childhood and a longing for adventures of such kind again. It was easy to read and exciting from the get-go. The vibe of the story was amazing and it surprisingly became comforting for me (even though it was a Stephen King novel). I can definitely recommend it and watch the movie: "Stand by me" when you're done. You're gonna love it if you like 80's pre-teen/coming-of-age movies.

I really enjoyed this book. Its one of the first stephen king books that I read. I remember reading it while we were camping and it was all I wanted to do, I loved the friendships and the bonds created in this book. I also love the memories of what I was doing while reading this book. While we were camping, our tent flooded overnight because of the rain and it gave this book water damage which I'm kind of sad about but honestly I'll see the water expanded spine and forever remember the memories that came along with it so I'm thankful for that.
