I didn't enjoy this one as much as I did the book.

I love the story, but I really don’t like the strange artwork.

Geniale, ma questi disegni.. Non so, mi hanno trasmesso un po' di tristezza ;_;
L'opera sembra essere troppo cupa!

I read the novel and the graphic novel back to back to see how they compare, and more importantly, to see if I could just read the graphic novels instead of the novel so that I can catch up to my book club kids. I think that I can… The plot was complete, and I still chuckled at the humor even with so much text eliminated. Important details were added in clever ways, and I actually enjoyed seeing some of the complex battle scenes instead of reading about them because sometimes very technology is hard to visualize. Other reviewers say that the graphic novel has terrible illustrations and relies too much on text… This may be the reason why I like it more than any other graphic novel! There is a good amount of text. Anyway, I was going to just read the next book, paternity code, and graphic novel format only, but when I opened up the first page of the full novel, I realized I have to read it instead. Both have their merits, and both are enjoyable, but I really just love the writing of the traditional novel versions.

This was pleasant enough, and notably accurate with the book's author doing the writing. Can't say I particularly enjoyed the art, however.

Pretty much the same as my first review, only drawing details have slightly improved.
Not one of my best reviews, but I guess I just don't appreciate graphic novels enough? I really need to read some original ones. I can't help comparing this to the book, and the book is just so much better.
Right now I'm reading [book:Persepolis], and hopefully that will do the genre justice.
