Overall, amazing. I am not a big fan of romance, so after bracing myself for the plot of the series, I dove into the book, and if I didn't have so much going on in my life, it probably would have taken me two days.
Mark is definitely one of the characters I looked forward to reading. I love reading about friendships and sibling relationships, so I was excited he came back and I'm not sure I can put into words how much I wanted him to stay and forget all about the Hunt.
Four stars because the book was genius and I did not see a lot of what happened coming, and while I did a pretty good job toughing through the romance aspects, there were still a couple scenes (such as the sex scene on the beach) I could have done without.

Even though I am giving it five stars because I just love this universe and everything Clare tells me about it... it is still my least favourite out of all of the other novels so far. And it is strange, because I love Jules... but for some reason... It just doesn't steal the place of the Infernal Devices or Mortal Instruments.

OMYGODSSSSS THIS BOOK JUST TORE ME APART
The best thing about it, at least for me, was definitely the characters, they're so interesting and well written and I absolutely loved it!
SPOILER: I also really liked that there weren't really any important love triangles but it seems that will change in the next book :/

Purely addictive!! In short, I really really loved this book and am so glad (if a little heartbroken and nostalgic) to be reading fantasy books again.

This is a bit of an odd review, as I stayed up most of last night reading this book and it has been my whole life the last 2 days really. I have always loved fantasy books the most. I don't remember exactly, but I must have been 14 or 15 when I read the TMI and TID series. I absolutely loved them, and when Lady Midnight was due to come out I got all excited and got it as soon as it was released. However, for some strange reason it has remained on my shelf, untouched, ever since then. I kind of picked it up by a twist of fate, as I have kind of read most of the books on my shelf at home now. It has been since I finished the Throne of Glass-series that I have really read fantasy. This book really did not disappoint, I loved every page of it. There is something so addictive to fantasy books for me. It almost hurts how much I love reading fantasy, because I know the worlds and stories and characters will never be real. When I compare the real world to it, it always comes up short compared to the one in the book. Most of all, these books just set a veeery high standard for real-world men ;) I will definitely be buying the other 2 books part of The Dark Artifices-series as soon as I get back to Edinburgh (so that I don't have to lug around two 700-page books in my little cabin suitcase).

Well, this was truly SPECTACULAR! I honestly feel like a traitor for saying this, but please bear with me, Lady Midnight is a better first book than Clockwork Angel. There, I said it and I don't regret a thing! I absolutely loved Lady Midnight from the beginning to the end and if I wasn't absolutely dying to continue the series this instant I would probably want to re-read it immediately. Guys, if you care even just a shred for the Shadowhunter Chronicles, READ THIS BOOK. Okay, I'm out, gotta read the next one and die of emotional overload once more. I do hope Lord of Shadows and Queen of Air and Darkness will be as good ad this because I don't think I could handle it if they weren't.

And to think, for a second there, I actually thought [a:Cassandra Clare|150038|Cassandra Clare|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1270502031p2/150038.jpg] wasn't going to milk a long, drawn out romance. Sigh
Also what the actual hell is up with that short story at the end?! She's trying to kill me i swear
