was a bit slow getting into it, but once i reached about 3 quarters in, then it really did feel like i was fully engrossed in the story. after finishing, looking at the full story and progression, the world building and character interactions built so much depth and clarity that helped support an amazing finish

Bello bello bello.

I tore through this book in less than a week. Parts were incredibly bleak but it was such a wild, spooky right. I was a little disappointed when the first ‘reveal’ happened toward the end, because it left me thinking it was a pretty simple solution to what seemed like a huge mystery. Then BAM BAM BAM twist after reveal after twist… Bardugo’s writing is incredible. Immediately starting book 2.

Definitely need to have all your focus and brain power in this book when reading, otherwise you’re gonna miss something and be lost forever! 😝 but I really became invested after powering through the first bit that was a bit trying.

Dark academia, murder mystery!

I am keen to get my hands on the next book in the series for sure!
