This was enjoyable at times but hard going at others. I liked some of the stories but I don't think such a detailed history of the Targaryens is needed. So many names doing so many things... An edited selection of the more interesting events in their history would have been preferable. The book was heavy and I reckon might be to blame for my sore right hand as I struggled to read it in bed. I'd huge this 2.5 stars if Goodreads would allow it.
