This short story was a page-turner for sure! The prose is well done and evokes such wonderful imagery that I could see the entire story play out in my head. The characters were so well developed. There are the good guys, Declan and Hank whose relationship is strained by Declan's addiction to NV-15; Declan's inner turmoil with his addiction to the drug that gives him superpowers; and Mr. E, Lavander Madame, and the Scarlet Harlot were the perfect villains.
A very quick read but its brevity in no way takes away from its ability to deliver a great story. I definitely am going to get the other books in this series! Worth the read!
