Fun, light read with decent writing.

The main character, Joanna, was immature and ridiculous and drove me nuts though! I also think that the description of small towns and their politics was far from balanced or well meaning. It erred on the side of overly critical and judgemental, I felt like the author used this book to vent her personal issues with her hometown.

DNF. After receiving this on Jan 15, crawling through the first 100 pages, and then feeling no compulsion to even pick it up in the past three weeks... I'm officially letting myself give up. But I'm counting it as read for my Goodreads goal because I REALLY tried.

I would give this book a 3 1/2 rating. A very light read.

A tale based on Martha's Vineyard that manages to convey both the isolation and insulation of island life, without judging anyone's choices. Though somewhat predictable, the snappy dialogue and well-described scenes kept me turning the pages.
