The narration took a moment to get used to but I ended up loving it entirely~☆ just the right amount of litrpg&cultivation this series is sure to win over fans of Shonen Anime in a heart beat!

I couldn't decide if I liked this book or not. I definitely felt like this book was written for a much younger audience, despite the hero being much older than the target audience.
For example:
The number of times the hero would meet a younger girl and then say something like "they are very pretty/beautiful, but I'm not that kind of guy that hits on kids"... well it was a borderline uncomfortable feeling. Especially since the author never defines how old these female "kids" are, other than being quite young and potentially too young for dating.
The hero also was too overpowered, to the point that there is no tension in the book. Fight a big monster? "I'll just flick them with my finger" (quite literally happens). Many scenes are also very anime-like, which I am guessing was the goal of the author. Think during action scenes character's flying through trees, breaking them in half, etc.
I also wasn't a fan of how pretty much every character the hero meets is almost always a hero, and they almost always fall in love with him and obsess after him constantly. Strong harem vibes, despite the hero constantly claiming he's not interested in most of the characters.

It has a wonderfully interesting premise, but I couldn't connect with the hero and I think that was because I was not the ideal reader. I'd read more by this author if the writing was aimed at perhaps an older audience, but for me this targeted 14-16 year old boys and just didn't quite meet my own expectations.

Solidly good and a fun read, but certainly not doing anything ground breaking for the genre. Setting up some interesting plot points that might become more though and I look forward to seeing if it's going to break/subvert any genre traditions in future volumes!
