This story never disappoints. I absolutely loved this and will be anxiously waiting for the 4th book to come out.

I loved hearing more about Destin and Evan. Some areas lagged with background information. Excellent writing, fast paced, and great setup for the final book.

Once again, this book kind of made me want to fall asleep for most of it. It wasn't that it wasn't well done, but WOW the politics and talk about war just wasn't it for me. The main characters introduced in book one, two and three, are all separated in different regions and we follow them while also learning a bunch of tactical information on what is to come, but there is no action to really progress that forward (I assume that's for the fourth and final book of course).

I really enjoyed the first 15% of the book, and the last 10%, but everything in the middle kind of made me slow down. My mood to read has been low lately and this didn't really help. There were some parts that really made me want to continue, but for most of it I was bored!! I couldn't help it.

I love Evan though and look forward to seeing more of him. Also I just want the two adult characters from series one to get together because it's about damn time! And it would just be so damn sweet UGH! Oh, and if Crow shows up in the last book I may actually cry because, I love that damn character and I know he's in there somewhere!! If not him than I'll take the person who died in book one please and thank you because I miss him too :'(

Things are a lot more focused on Evan and Destin, their growing bond as well as their part in the story. We learn that Evan has been dealing with Celestine since he was very young. Hal and Talbot make progress as well, and we also finally get to see some more interaction between Ash, Raisa, and Lyss. It might seem miniscule in comparison to everything that's been going on in this story, but they're family! They deserve to have some moments together. Things end on a sad note here as well, but I feel as though Chima is actually pretty good at character deaths. They move the plot forward and aren't just there for shock factor.

Another great installment! I can’t give them a full five stars because I have such a hard time trying to remember who the hell everyone is

I like all the characters well enough and was frustrated each time the POV changed because I would so quickly get invested in what the current POV character was attempting and the suspension killed me, but also I got frustrated with how much time they spent talking about how Celestine is evil and coniving without really showing her before she finally arrived.
