While there was a sprinkling of dark themes, overall I felt the book was cozy to read during winter time and I loved the dynamic between the FMC and her best friend and with the MMC. In some books, the best friend gets swept to the side and sometimes even mistreated, but in this case the best friend remains a solid support throughout.
I was able to predict a few things, however there was still enough to discover throughout the book that it never lost its intrigue.

I’m deeply bothered by the reality show aspect to the story but other than that I was intrigued and into it.
I love Fae stories, I’m not denying it nor will I ever! So what I like about Frost is that it didn’t hold back on the violence of Fae’s, there no censoring the human sacrifices the curiosities or anything else that could be too violent. The story did not fear making the Fae unlovable, which for me a lot of other stories do you know at least to a certain degree.
I also love the competition, yes it’s stupid to compete to be the Queen, but if you think about it being the Queen is a big deal for the Fae. It’s not a trophy wife position but a source of true power so it does make sense that to be the Queen you need to be strong and capable.
I absolutely love the ending, the way that they revealed what Ava truly was, ugh perfection!

“It seems I have you exactly where I want you, my favorite changeling.”
The FMC and MMC have an amazing connection even on their roller coaster. The scene building is epic; immense detail really kept me intrigued. The chapters are short but I don’t feel like the story jolts too quickly from scene to scene, it all flows well. And THAT ENDING!?!?!?! What a twist I didn’t see coming, yet is such an exciting cliffhanger!
•short chapters
•will they won’t they
•mostly single pov of the fmc
•”enemies” to “lovers” (kinda but not really?)
•medieval vibes
Out October 3rd!
Thank you to @netgalley @victoryeditingngc and @cn_crawford for the ARC in exchange for my review!
