I feel relieved to be done with this book because it took me so long to get through. The first half took me about 2.5 months and the second half I pretty much read in a couple settings. Partly because I enjoyed the 2nd half much more and partly because I got determined to finish the book. Eugene Peterson is a genius and a precious and beautiful man who I feel so much affection for. I LOVED many parts of this book but there were a handful of parts that were just slow for me and didn't totally captivate me. Even though it was taking forever to read I knew I wanted to stick with it and I am so, so glad I did. There are parts that will stick with me forever, so it was totally worth it.
