This is a sweet bedtime story for kids who love animals and trains. With beautiful, detailed illustrations and a gentle rhyming text, a young child feeling restless boards the Moonlight Train for a ride through the jungle with jungle animal guests.

Picture book in rhyme. This book has very animated illustrations that make the reader feel as if they are actually on the moonlight train, looking around at wild animals. The rhyme scheme is AAAB, so the first three lines on every page rhyme and then follow with the refrain (all aboard the moonlight train). The repetition makes it fun for youngsters to participate in the reading. It starts out at breakneck speed, but settles down enough that it could be used to help kids drift off to sleep. Train or wild animal lovers would enjoy this story, as well as anyone who appreciates magical pictures.
