I bumped this up from 'okay' to 'liked it' because I enjoyed the plot, as well as the musings on evolution and the Satanians. However, I did find myself confused about the characters and their relationships with one another several times, and don't get me started on the fallacies (okay, okay, it's a graphic novel...but still.). It is definitely a page turner, and I certainly could not predict what would happen, but I'm not sure I would describe it as fun. It is unique and it passed the time in an entertaining way. Meh, maybe I should change my rating back to 'okay'...

The story was not fleshed out enough to be enjoyable, the visions of Charlie's mother did not effectively land for me and the death of the brother seemed like a convoluted metaphor for getting over her trauma. The art style was amazing and the concept was good enough to hold my attention.

'Satania' with story by Fabien Vehlmann and art by Kerascoet is about a trippy trip to the center of the Earth. Or something like that.
A young woman, nicknamed Charlie, heads up an expedition to find her lost brother. He disappeared underground on a mission to prove the existence of Hell, kind of. Charlie's team finds more than they bargained for as they are forced to venture further and further down. They find deadly situations, strange situations, and odd creatures.
The story is certainly weird enough. Perhaps a bit too weird in places. There are a lot of panels and lots of art to go along with this story. I do like a good explorer story and this wasn't too bad.
I received a review copy of this graphic novel from NBM Publishing, Papercutz, and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this graphic novel.

This really took a turn. I felt claustrophobic while reading this in the best way possible. I felt like the explorers were never going to find the bottom, much less make it back up to the top.
