i enjoyed the book and it kept me reading but i didn't feel especially connected to it? at times it was more a succession of bad things than a fully fleshed out story, and there is lots of repetition of deep trauma

She’s had better books than this. Main characters were easy to sympathize with, but they were still hard to like. Too many layers of story going on at once, and the whole thing that kicked it off was so disgusting. Unfortunately, that first scene got revisited three more times, and it got worse each time.

I really wanted to get into this book, but while length isn’t usually a problem for me, this one just would hold my interest. This book was also very graphic and repetitive. Considering thriller are not a favorite genre, I just couldn’t stick with it anymore.
