Engaging thriller with lots of twists, turns and secrets. The main characters all have something to hide from the police and through the work of a true crime YouTuber; all those secrets are finally revealed. The finally twist was not what I was expecting and it ends on a cliffhanger that could be used to write a second book. Really great thriller!

Frankie moves to a new seaside home and it's a dream come true. Her new neighbours, Zara, Nadine, and Geneva, quickly take her under their wing and the four women become inseparable. Until Geneva's body is found at the beach. Suspicion is quickly centred on Geneva's husband but when the police don't charge him, he vanishes without a trace. Five years later, he's back and now no one is beyond suspicion as dark secrets begin to be revealed.

THE SECRETS WE BURIED is the first book I've read by Becca Day and I quite enjoyed it. This story features a group of friends who share a slew of secrets, but when one of them is murdered and the police have no leads, a podcaster takes up the case and is determined to solve it. The podcast trope is quite prevalent now in thriller books but it can be so much fun.

I really enjoyed the friend group - their characters are well-written, dynamic, and interesting. I liked that each of the women's POV was shared, making for an intriguing storytelling as the reader tries to piece everything together. This story features many twists and turns as secrets are revealed that leave suspicion on previous actions. The pacing starts off slow but soon amps up with ample suspense leading to a shocking ending.
