Listen..... I grew up reading Wattpad and Fanfiction.net
I can suspend my beliefs for a great number for fictional plot lines.
What I can't get passed is the girls being abused almost daily and still being physically attracted to their abusers!!
The violence again the main female characters in this series is both concerning and abhorrent. It concerns me that there are younger women being disillusioned by this book into being attracted to abusive characters because 'theyre just so hot'. Very difficult to get through because the bullying is so severe.
Sure, use fairy dust to travel dimensions, that's no problem with me, but can we have a little dignity for the main characters?? Hard to believe it took 2 authors to put this piece of work together.....
Spoiler Alert: there's literally a c-plot concerning murder and in the A-plot they are worried about a fucking school dance, I'm not making this up.
I think this series yanked me out of my adult 'romance' novel phase.... Like even Fifty Shades was more fleshed out😶🌫️
I HATED a crown of thorns and roses and it was still better than this.

Very difficult to get through because the bullying is so severe. It definitely doesn't help that they are both 'barely legal' aka freshly 18. Near the end of the book, one of the girls willingly goes to that godforsaken dance with one of the abusers!! At that point, I was not rooting for her.
