This book was so good. Jethro and Nila are more alike than they think and in this book for me you see that. Pepper is such a fantastic storyteller I just get so caught up in her books, and this series of books is no different. I so am looking forward to the next book to see what will happen with Jethro and Nila. 5 plus stars for me.

OH YEAH! I totally picked the right person as Kite. I feel like a genius. I'm not going to lie, Nila is very naive and thinks she can play games with a family who are so good at deceit and punishment that they 'legally' kidnapped you ancestors for YEARS. You got no hope girl. No hope.

Anyway, I'm keeping this short so I don't give it all away, but this one was just as amazing as the last! And of course I'm in love with Jethro. Kes makes me weary, and also, jethros relationship with his sister feels all Pervy and incest to me and we haven't even seen them together. How does ones sister 'fix' them? I hope it's not Pervy!

Phew! It is like watching a boxing match. Jethro and Nila are both strong characters. They both wont give up their control. They keep pushing and pulling to one another. I want to pull my hair out from my skull hearing their mind.

Both of them have good reason not to give up their control. And yet slowly they begin to feel the attraction toward another. A pull so strong. A push to seductive. When they finally consume their desire, it can burn both Hawl and Weaver houses to dust.

I do enjoy this book very much and looking forward to pick up the next book. But I need to catch my breath first.

I am reviewing this book from my own personal copy.

From the first book we deem that this debt that the Weavers owe won't end well for Jethro or Nila. In this installment though Nila thrives and pays her first debt. Although it's not really her debt, it's her families. Nila seems to come alive though and demand things from Jethro that have him acting out of character. His icy coldness is just a thin veneer of his personality, his depths hot like lava. Nila pushes, pokes and prods at his veneer until it wears thin and the true Jethro is exposed. But even after a few truths and a few exposing moments will Jethro be truly exposed or is this one of his many layers. I'm not sure after finishing first debt who Nila can trust. I'm not sure this book is defined by entertainment but it sure has gripped me. Five stars!

WOW. A round of applause for Pepper Winters yet again.
THAT CLIFFHANGER. UGH. TOO MANY EMOTIONS.
"Debt Inheritance" was a great read but holy, this second installment is out of this world.
I seriously cannot even contain myself... Jethro, what a guy. And Nila... she is growing into a beautiful, strong woman.

Read it. That is all.

You know, most people think because I can give a book a one star review, I'm some kind of troll or 'crappy person'. It's usually very simple. I didn't like the book. When I read book one after all this big hype and everyone being all gushy. Then I read it, and a huge wave of disappointment came over me. The story was a tangled mess of words that made no sense, followed my a plot device to make it 'dark' that left me feeling less than uncomfortable and more meh about the whole thing.

When book two came out of course I saw the hype again. I saw of course all the glowing ARC reviews, which why not? You're getting a free early copy, best be making it look good right?

This is what I thought. Now, I'm all about the second chance. I wanted Pepper to wow me like she had wow'd so many other readers with her dark uncomfortable books. I like dark reads. I like reads that push all my hard limits and take me on a ride of escape. Usually after these books I need something light and fluffy before I can go back to another sinister read.

Well, I'm gonna tell you right now, this book is proof that you should ALWAYS give something a second chance. Why? Because everyone is human and sometimes people make mistakes. I believe in my heart of hearts book one could've been added to this installment and it would have made the whole thing flow a whole lot better. I am not going to say this is perfect, but my complaints are simple ones that could still unfold as the books roll out. As a whole, I gained empathy and liking for all the characters involved. Without too many spoilers I believe Cut and Bonnie are the issue. If an 'accident' where to befall both of them, I think this whole issue would be resolved putting Jet in charge and he could rewrite and get rid of that stupid 'Debt' because lets face it. Its stupid, even Jet thinks it stupid and if Kes isn't being two-faced, I believe he thinks it is also.

FYI I figured out after her first convo with Kite who he really was. I think that could have been hidden slightly better, but I also feel Pepper wanted the reader to know in a way. To link the connection better.

So, here are my current predictions: Jet and Kes are working together in some demented way to get Jet in power so they can get out from under Cut's thumb. I think he didn't expect to like Nila. I think he figured he would get the end kill her so he could then change things. Well, this is what NEEDS to happen. There needs to be a plot with like minded people to overthrow and/or kill Cut and possibly Bonnie.

Because see, here is the thing. The Debt contract is still making no sense. Unless the Weaver's tormented the Hawk's for 600 is REALLY makes no sense for it to be still in play. Personally I think sadist upon sadist/serial killer/sociopath were raising others to be the same. Well, they got one in Daniel, but failed in Jet. Deep down hes good waiting to come out. We see that, its real. It is all a very complicated situation that is somehow going to resolve itself in three books according to goodreads. Or, she's literally going to write a book for each debt, which God please if that is the plan I might go out of my mind!
