Took me a long time to read this book and I loved reading it. The writer wrote a good representation
of what the war was like. Great book!

Probably the first war novel I've ever read. It was so harrowing I cried reading some parts of the book. Won't forget when he dropped his precious soup, when he met the Germans who were humans after all, when his family members died and when... Never mind. It hurts just thinking about it, even though I read it more than 20 years ago. Don't want to be in siege during winter, that's all.
