Towards the end the book picked pace, but first half was slow and also anxiety inducing

Audio is the way to go with this series, I've decided. For awhile I was collecting these books whenever I found them at used book stores, but even though I owned the paperback of this one, I decided to listen to the audio version from the library instead. No regrets! That's how I plan to consume the entire rest of the series, as long as they're all available that way.

This book contained a twist to the series that I was unspoiled on and didn't see coming at all. It's called space opera for a reason - some of the plot points would live comfortably in the soapiest of soap operas, and I love it.

Reread for the nth time. The plot is a glorious tangled mess and it all comes together beautifully. If you are into mistaken identity and comedies of errors, this is gold. Also a good precursor to Memory because we start to see how Miles' conflicting identities are affecting him.

The cover is absurd and kitschy, as are most of the covers for this series, and now I'm thinking about how I would design it.
