Fiona knows how to make me hold my breath when reading!

All of Us Are Broken starts with an impossible scene. We already know what’s going to happen at almost the end of the book and then with a heavy heart the reader is racing through the pages, not being able to put the book down, to see how did the characters end up in this situation?!

Compelling story, Bonnie & Clyde on the loose, they’re going to kill everyone and welcome their own death, leaving a murderous history behind!

How can the victims escape?

Really well written, with heartbreaking piece that made me shed a tear or two. An intense chase of insane killers, with a storyline of the broken family trying to have a nice holiday together…

All Of Us Are Broken is a welcome return for me to DC Saul Anguish and his team, who we first met in Into The Dark, which I really enjoyed. However, for me, the plot in All Of Us Are Broken is even better, making this book easily one of my favourites of the year!

The characters feel well-rounded and convincing We get some development of Saul and Blue’s relationship with one another, which was initially introduced in Into The Dark, so I’d recommend starting with that book if you can, but if not this novel can absolutely be read and enjoyed as a standalone too.

What makes this novel so gripping is the dark, shocking storyline following a spate of killings across the country investigated by DC Anguish and his team. The book opens with an incredibly shocking scene that you won’t forget in a hurry, and from there on I was completely hooked!

I liked that the book had a focus on the people doing the killings – which we soon find out (so it’s not a spoiler!) are being carried out by Fox, a man with a very dark past, and Missy, a disgraced school teacher – as well on as on the police’s investigation. Their ruthlessness and depravity are morbidly captivating to read about. The book is laced with tension throughout and I couldn’t put it down! The book is steeped in tension throughout, making it impossible to put down. If you’re in the mood for something darkly twisted and shockingly gripping, this is well worth a punt.

All Of Us Are Broken is an incredibly gripping crime thriller – you can’t go wrong with Fiona Cummins’ novels, but this one is exceptionally addictive.

🎧I had the audiobook read by Eilidh Beaton who does a great job with the narration.

The second book to feature Saul and Blue, the first being Into the Dark.
A crime based thriller where everyone has secrets and a dark past. The  Detective Saul Anguish is working with Blue a forensic linguistic expert.

Young couple Missy and Fox are going all out to be infamous with their crimes, Bonnie and Clyde wanna be’s. It’s not long before they cross paths with the Hardwicke family who set off for the Highlands for a much needed holiday.

This grabbed me from the very beginning with a really strong hook. The mother has an impossible decision to make.

What can I say about this book, I’ve read several by this author and this is hands down my favourite. The characterisation is superb. It has a good emotional depth. It’s beautifully written, I defy you not to be moved by this storytelling.
We have from 3 perspectives, Missy and Fox the antagonists, the family, and the police. I would say that the family are more centre stage than the police.

There’s so many twists, turns and reveals, there’s never a dull moment. It put me in mind of the style of one of my favourite authors Belinda Bauer.

I absolutely loved it, the narrator adds even more to it with a great performance. This is in my books of the year.

A modern day Bonnie and Clyde. Full of twists and turns, very violent so not for the faint hearted and anxiety inducing. No one is safe in this book. If you like Chris Carter, this is definitely the book for you.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC
