These two...so cute! I absolutely loved them and was so happy with Charlie for being the better man and standing up for himself. They are just so strong together.

Sigh. MC at her best. I reread this at least once a year along with Again and Frog.

Too short! Too short! Too short! As always, Mary Calmes' characters work for me. Especially Leo the Oblivious!

Audio Version

I never listen to audiobooks. My attention wanders too much. I have a serious case of adult ADD. But I laid down last night, put this story on and was completely entranced by [a:Greg Tremblay|8108759|Greg Tremblay|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1484561919p2/8108759.jpg]'s voice and [a:Mary Calmes|3152411|Mary Calmes|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1473696272p2/3152411.jpg]' words. From the seriously outrageous first sentence to Charlie's heart-breaking back story and Leo's hysterical POV, it was great. I laughed out loud many times and even wiped away a few tears. I was in love!!

Greg Tremblay and Mary Calmes are a Dream Team. In one hour and fifty-one minutes, Tremblay took a world with amazing characters created by the author and turned them into people with feelings. What a gift he has!

Charlie Ryder was hurting—people he thought he could trust turned against him in the most awful way. I won’t say what that was, though, because you need to listen to this audiobook.

Leo Foster is a man who’s so comfortable in his own skin, and I liked him. I really laughed at the part where he takes Charlie to meet his mom so she can assure Charlie that Leo is a good guy—how can you not believe the mom, right?

Mary Calmes is a no-brainer auto-read, and Greg Tremblay…what a talent and a great resource for all authors who want their book narrated by one of the best.

2nd re-listen. Rating stays the same.

As is usual with Mary Calmes, no matter the length of the story there are at least 3 things happening that don't particularly have anything to do with the story and a dozen or so side characters. Here is no exception and we have the friend of the MC that wants a loan and drops a hot piece of info, the work partner that used to be the MC's sister's ex-husband, the sister's current boyfriend that hit her and the MC and her ex come to the rescue, the MC's ex coming to town and of course the other MC that is gorgeous and perfect and finally makes his move when the ex appears.

So with all that going on the story ended before it really began between the 2 MCs that in a not quite 2 hours audio book, had maybe half an hour of it all being in the same page together.

Whatever... I'll be good and not drop my rating.

Okay I've read this story a long time ago (when I first met Mary Calmes as an author) and I liked it and listening to it with Greg Tremblay didn't change a thing. Still missing a nice hot sex scene though lol xD

This was a sweet short story, but felt a bit rushed and incomplete. I didn't feel like I really got a feeling of Leo's attraction to Charlie or Charlie's attraction to Leo. It was like they were just friends for years with an all of a sudden "boom" I'm in love with you and nothing to show how they got there. Despite that, I liked Charlie and his struggles to overcome his past, and I loved strong, solid Leo.
