Really interesting and informative read, written in a way that makes it easy to follow and understand even complex legal issues.
I did find it dragged a little at the end and found the last chapter repetitive at times.

It really does show that the author has studied Law but this is surprisingly accessible as an overview of how the legal understanding of murder developed in Britain and how the idea of murder as an offence against the state has been measured and punished in its (approximately) thousand year history. Possibly not interesting to people more interested in the more sensational side of murder, it's still a very interesting insight into how sausage (or law, in this case) gets made.
Moderate: Domestic abuse, Mental illness, and Murder
Minor: Ableism, Suicide, and Schizophrenia/Psychosis
