A quick and easy romance to flit through, Shutout is a lighthearted tale of falling in love when you least expect it. Though it touches on some difficult subjects, it doesn’t go into too much depth which enables you to process the more touchy subjects quickly.

In stark contrast to its predecessor, Shutout is a quick read and isn’t made up of lots of little subplots. It gets down to the root of the story which is Sera and Ty’s relationship. Though I’m glad that there weren’t as many subplots as Offside, I wish there’d been a bit more actual hockey. There is a lot about the drafting process, by way of Tyler’s worries about the future, but not too much in relation to a play-by-play of hockey games which is what I really liked about Offside. Put the two books together and you have the perfect tale!

I really love the characters in this series, so I’m hopeful we’ll get a Chloe/Reid love story. They both deserve a happy ending.
