5.0

Reference librarian Kim Reynolds’ heart pangs at the distance she’s placed between her and her former fiancé, Detective Mike Gardner. Turns out he’s married and the woman who abandoned him and their two little girls long ago, Evelyn, has moved back in with him. Mike’s miserable, so is Kim. Then Evelyn is found dead in Mike’s house. Murdered.

The spouse is a logical suspect and sure enough, the cops arrest Mike for murder. Kim’s beside herself. Her intuition tells her Mike didn’t murder anyone, and she’s gonna prove it or die trying. Secrets abound as the plot twists and turns to a satisfying conclusion.

Seewald delivers another winner with this 4th entry in her Kim Reynolds series.
