Another hit in this series. I love the relationship between grandmother and granddaughter. A good murder mystery mixed into a heartwarming story. I only hope the ghost gets a little more story time as the series goes on.

Welp.

I didn't enjoy this one as much I did the first one. The story still had that cozy mystery feel but it just DRAGGED ON FOREVER! Listening to this as an audiobook on 1.40 speed and I just could not wait for it to be over. The new cast of characters were boring and I didn't really care about any of them except Cindy because she's me, except my fiance is Amazeballs, but thats neither here nor there.
This time around, Melanie and her grandmother, Liza have been able to open up the Merry Ghost inn and managed to get a group of guests. During a halloween party, a particularly rude guest, Walter, heckles the magician Nick, during his show, Cindy's boyfriend. The next morning, Melanie finds the dead body of Walter in the driveway and thus plunges us into another murder.
The story moved slow, the characters were forgettable and I'm ready to punch Detective Dutton in the face.

This one disappointed me, and I probably won't read the next one.

Good Second Installment

I liked this one better than the first. It was a nice followup with an interesting murder mystery.

I have not read any of the other books in this series but that was fine. This was a great cozy mystery with all of the criteria that I love in a cozy: setting, quirky but endearing characters and a great mystery. I couldn’t figure out whodunnit! I will definitely read the other books in the series.
