On the one hand I love that Jenny Colgan’s characters have faults and imperfections. On the other hand Joel is super effing annoying in this book. He makes me pretty angry, and within this fictional world I have a hard time believing he wouldn’t slip back into his old ways in the future.

But otherwise it’s a lovely and bittersweet story.

A good story, but not my favorite Jenny Colgan book. The first two in the series were much faster paced. This one, I could put down.

Cozy but not too cutesy holiday tale set on a Scottish island inhabited by old-timers and newcomers, including a dying American billionaire and a Syrian refugee doctor and his children. Humorous but also dealt with heartbreak and other serious topics. While the author did a good job of recapping previous series entries, it clearly would have been better to start at the beginning.

Cozy (despite the snow storm and dark winter) humorous and romantic.
