I had extremely high hopes for this book....and those hopes were decimated, smashed into a billion little pieces and set on fire, the ashes now blowing in the breeze...*dramatic sigh*. The beginning of the book was good, and I really liked it....but the further I read the worse it got. I just...no...just no.

I read this book in middle school, I hope I didn’t show my age, and read it again as an adult. This by far is my favorite book series to date, and will always be. The love I have for Alice in wonderland is continued in a new POV. The way that AG Howard built a new world within an old world was exceptionally done! This book never disappoints me and I wish the ‘Moth in mirrors’ was a physical book! If you truly love, Alice in wonderland, like I do, you need to read this book!

What a fantastic book!
I have always loved Alice In Wonderland and I have to say I love this book just as much.

This is one I know I will read again.

*I won an ARC of Splintered from The Midnight Garden and I'm really excited to read it!*

ARC received on 26 April 2013 - bit thanks to Wendy Darling and the rest of the wonderful ladies on her blog!

This and other reviews are originally posted on my blog (un)Conventional Bookviews

Splintered is an amazing mixture of a re-telling and a totally new story featuring Alice in Wonderland! I am still within the confines of the story, and I truly loved both Alyssa and Jeb, even Morpheus somehow managed to sneak his way into my heart.

This is simply one of the best fiction fantasy books I've read in a long time. Fantasy has always been one of my favorite genres, but many books in that category have rarely captured me as well as this one did. It was very well written. Fascinating characters and vivid imagery; a page turner for sure. If you liked Lewis Carroll's original "Alice in Wonderland," you'll definitely like this version of the story. It's darker, stranger, and more twisted and suspenseful than ever before. I can't wait to finish the rest of the series.

This book had so much potential but the storyline got progressively worse throughout the book. The existence of Jeb didnt help at all.

After reading so many bad reviews on this I didn't know what to expect but I actually really liked it. Now I do like her other books as well.
And maybe I have an odd taste in books, I don't know.

It was a quick read, kept me interested, loved the wonderland world A.G. Howard created and where everyone is saying one of the main characters annoyed them, he didn't really annoy me that much. I mean, in any book there's people I like and dislike, but it didn't effect the book at all to me.

Starting in book 2 today, curious to see if my opinion on the guy and the books will change

As Jeb would say, Holy wow. I really enjoyed this story. It makes wonderland so much darker and creepier, so if you want the child version, don't read this book. Also, loved the purple text. Very nice change. The only reason I took it down half a star was because it was kinda confusing at points, cause you have to keep track of almost every detail, and it really helps to watch/read Alice in Wonderland before reading this. Also, TEAM JEB! Morpheus is actually kind in the end, and he understands Alyssa like jeb cant, but he's still kinda selfish and tbh kinda freaky. Just weird but cool. Overall, I am shooketh to the core (I literally threw stuff around my room the last 50 pages I was so upset) and this has kinda become a new favorite series. Oops oh well.
I SMILE, THEN GIVE HIM A KISS HE'LL NEVER FORGET, TO REPLACE ALL THE ONES HE'LL NEVER REMEMBER.
