Tried the first chapter and couldn’t freaking stand the writing style. I don’t know what about it irked me so much, but I hated it.

This book is foodie, cozy, multi-cultural, murder-laden perfection. If you're looking for high intrigue with a warm, cozy feel (think Sweet Home Alabama, but with murder, lots of food, and fiercely loving Filipino aunties), this is a quick and fun read with enough bodies and humor to easily keep you engaged. 5/5

Solid cozy mystery, just enough hints. Could do with some editing though!

A fun debut cozy mystery to help you get through the cold weather. Lila has returned home to help her aunt and grandmother with their restaurant. She can't figure out why an old boyfriend gives them bad reviews all the time, but eats in their restaurant numerous times a week. Then someone dies at the table she is serving. Lila knows she didn't do it, but who is responsible?

Actual Rating: 3 started off interesting, the rest of the mystery had its ups and downs, sometimes I was bored while other moments were interesting

I’ve been wanting to read this one for a while, and believe me I was not disappointed. The ending was too much of an unbelievable twist for my taste. But between the delicious sounding food and the wiener dog named after a sausage I was captivated enough to give it 5⭐️
