I love when they give the FMC cute nicknames like one calls her Angel and one calls her Fuck Toy

There are no words to describe how much I adored this book. I read The Dare about a year and a half ago and fell in love with these characters. For it to be a novella broke my heart, because I wanted so much more. When Harley first posted about the Losers Duet, I cried happy tears. I refused to read it until it was complete, just in case. Gosh it's been a long time coming. 100/10

Great queer representation. I love RH with some MM action. Great trauma representation, including mental health concerns, and religious trauma. No plot just straight up kinky, bdsm, spice. I really liked that the kink representation came with healthy explanations of what the ground rules should look like. Perfect trigger warning page. I cannot stand a book that surprises you with something.
I’ve figured out that “dark” romances like Haunting Adeline and the L.O.R.D.S series are simply BDSM without healthy ground rules (which I don’t like). They aren’t even that kinky. This book is kinky af as well as being a healthy representation of things like cnc and various other forms of fun. Frankly you could probably even use this as a starting point if you have no idea what’s out there in the kink community.
I love all the mmcs, especially Vincent and Jason. I wish there had been more of them. There’s a subtlety between a dominant mmc and an alpha-hole that I can’t quite put my finger on but Harley has done well making sure the mmcs never head into eye roll territory. Perhaps it’s because they are the losers? It’s a nice perspective.
The fmc got a bit irritating after a while otherwise this would have been 5 stars. There was some decent character development on her part as the high school bully but not enough for my liking. The boys just fell in love with her a little too quickly. I also never saw her say she was sorry. Had she said it I would have liked her more. Maybe she’ll get around to it in book two.
This is my first time reading a HL book and look forward to reading more books by this author.

possibly the best dark romance I’ve read all year??
The author recommends you start with ‘The Dare’ and I absolutely AGREE.
This book is funny, sexy, kinky, heart warming. Like if I explained it to you you’d be like “wtf girl” and I’d say “NO. it’s so good!!!”
I’m far too excited to read Part 2!!!!

This was EVERYTHING and so much more. I haven’t felt the things run through me while listening to an audiobook at work for a while.
The spicy moments (which there are many) are so enrapturing. The dynamic of the men amongst each other, and with Jessica are all intense and beautiful.
It may be because I was one of the “weirdos” in high school, but this book made me feel so attached to the “losers.” I could relate to them and how they feel about accepting others.
I haven’t read “the dare” so I’ll go back and read it, but I can’t wait to start part 2.

This book is so strange for me, I can't tell if I like it, or don't like it. I read the dare, which was mostly just a super smutty book with mild plot. So I was anxious to get into this and get more of a plot.
The books gives me massive The OC vibes, but obviously way more sex. Our FMC was the popular mean girl in HS who liked to make fun of and encourage her boyfriend to beat up a group of "losers", aka, the weird kids. But, she has always had a secret thing for them, and after a chance sexual encounter during a college break, now we're set after college.
First, I'm not a huge fan of the FMC. I don't find anything really redeemable about her yet. She was a bitch in HS, and still is, and now she is finding post HS and college that life isn't really what she thought. And maybe this life she has led isn't for her. Well duh. Personally so far, I don't think she deserves any of the MMCs. They're all way too good for her.
The MMC's are where I find the story lies. They're all broken, from traumatic pasts and families. They have personality, and loyalty, and love. I absolutely love that they're all together, and aren't shy about their sexuality and being together. It's amazing. I love all of their dynamics. But, I hate that Manson and the FMC seem to have more of a connection than the others. I hate uneven why choose's, or really for this story, polyamorous relationships. It bugs me. So that I hope changes.
The spice is excellent in the series. That's where it kinda shines. There is a lot, and it's great. We get MF, MM, and group scenes. There is a lot of degradation, humiliation, and dominant/submissive play. I didn't find anything too much, and there is constant and ongoing consent, safe words, and after care.
The book ends at a really weird spot. No cliffhanger or big lead up. Kinda just abruptly is like, to be continued.

Soooo Goood!!!
I have been missing out!! I was really going through a book slump and one of the ladies in my RH group suggested this to me and I had one look at the content warnings as was like umm no thank you HOWEVER I decided to get The Dare just to get a feel for the author and I was blown away! I never thought someone could take all of my least favorite kinks and make it so hot and not just that but sexy. So of course I immediately got this book and it was every thing I could have wanted. The way Manson, Lucas, Jason and Vincent love each other is so beautiful. A family formed from pain and rejection to help each other out of the dark❤ Now there is Jess a total diva who is ready to breakout of that roll and really explore herself in new ways and at the same time get to see how hard it truly is to be an outcast. I will just end this review with the best most swoon worthy quote that got me in the feels...Lucas is having a hard time and is looking at Manson, and he is thinking
He was intoxicating, a flawed god I couldn’t resist worshiping. His imperfection made him sacred, his strength made him holy. But the lust he inspired in me made him wicked, and the ease with which he bent me to his will was the closest thing to divinity I could imagine.

This is the book that fifty shades wanted to be when exploring BDSM...
Loser's Part I explores sexuality, kinks, and intimate partnerships in away that is both incredibility spicy, yet respectful and loving. It was refreshing to read a why choose romance that wasn't simply a reverse harem, but a true polygamous relationship amongst four lifelong friends. The "Losers" (Manson, Lucas, Jason, and Vincent) are well developed past their personas in which we first introduced in The Dare. Reading from each of their perspectives gave more depth to the characters and the impact that life in their small town has had on them.
We also got to understand their unique relationship with the female protagonist, Jessica. Once a malicious bully towards the foursome, Jessica is reintroduced into a world the BDSM and given the freedom to explore the parts of herself left hidden behind her high school persona. Despite the relationship between the group starting off as deal, the novel showcases the freedom of intimacy and sexuality in such a healthy way. Consent, boundaries, limitations, are all discussed giving a positive light to the world of kink that is often tarnished in this genre of romance. The inclusion of these details within the novel made it that much more of a dynamic experience for me as the reader.
These elements are not forgotten in the Losers Part 2. But I'll leave that for another review. All-in-all, I absolutely LOVED these characters, their story, and the spice was spicy.
Overall: 5/5
Characters: 5/5
Plot: 4.5/5
Spice 10/5
