Honestly, the first thing that made me read this book was the cover! It is probably my most favorite cover ever!! I bought the book just for that reason alone.

Now onto the book, I really enjoyed it and am glad the cover drew me in. I loved Trent. He was an alpha male who was strong, brash, rough around the edges...but really sweet on Eden. He wanted to deny his attraction to her (and her to him), but it happened anyways. There were twists and turns in this book that I didn't see coming, and was shocked a few times.

Eden is such a sweetheart. She is all that's good, and is only trying to save the school her dad runs. Her sister is no good, but she still wants to try to see the good in her. She is wholesome and that never changes, I like that about her. She helps soften Trent some, it makes them perfect together.

I definitely enjoyed this book, and the second one too. Looking forward to book 3!

What a fantastic start to a new series. Rife with compelling and complex characters, an intense and passionate opposites attract chemistry, and some unexpected twists, this is a beautiful and emotional story about loss, redemption, and the power of love. Lyrical prose, amazing secondary characters, and a story that packs so much heart and heat- there’s so much to adore. One of my favorite AL Jackson stories to date- and looking forward to more from this family!

Trent Lawson is a true bad boy . Tattooed from head to toe, only drives motorcycles + sports cars and he is the owner of the local night club in town, Trent’s reputation proceeds him . Hiding out in Redemption Falls was the only way Trent knew how to keep him, his son + his two brother’s out of harms way from the past that is trying to catch up to them all . Trent’s only focus in life has been to protect his son from any + everything, but nothing makes sense anymore once he meets the beautiful Ms. Murphy and realizes he wants to protect her too .

Eden Murphy is heaven on earth . A beautiful + pure soul who only wants to make everyone happy around her, even if it means she is not . Working as a teacher at her father’s private christian school, Eden finds herself needing a second job to help make ends meet at the school . Without her father knowing, Eden takes a job at the local night club across town . Thinking it will be a quick month of work + then pretending it never happened, she wasn’t prepared for the storm Trent would be in her life .

Trent + Eden were such an amazing couple - a true opposites attract romance . I loved that the two of them were different in almost every single way except for both running from past traumas + loving Gage furiously . I also loved that Trent’s brother’s were very involved in this first book . I have already grown so attached to Logan + Judd that I can’t wait to read their books next !

As always with A.L. Jackson she knocks it out of the park . I love how she can intertwine suspense + romance to make it flow so seamlessly . I will admit that the end of the story was not my favorite . I didn’t want that specific person to be so heavily involved negatively in each of their lives but it did make sense for the story . This was the first book in the Redemption Hills series but can be read as a stand-alone . Enjoy !

I enjoyed this story, possibly because I haven’t read a single dad romance in years. But I thought all the characters were great. I loved the twist in the end because I truthfully wasn’t expecting it.

The writing style wasn’t for me. I found the dialogue to be repetitive as well as the themes. I always enjoy a good push and pull with my romance. I like the bad man / good woman match up but I didn’t like how all their arguments are relatively the same.

Some portions of the writing were really beautiful and at other points I felt things were drawn out. Overall it was a sweet fluffy read, more steam than spice but still satisfying.

Can't do it. The writing style is boring, repetitive, dramatic, and too much inner dialog. We get it. He has a past that makes him no good for her. And she is "heaven". Despite knowing that and thinking she will fall apart in the end she can't stay away.

Wow this was an incredible story. So beautiful and so sad at times. I absolutely loved this. Gage is the cutest thing in the whole world.
