jaclyn_sixminutesforme's review against another edition
4.0
This collection exuded energy and passion, was deliciously experimental in form, and full of darkly beautiful imagery.
“eggshells” was one of my early favorites in the collection, but I was also really drawn to the Cyclone Songs part which I felt contained some of the strongest content and was certainly that which resonated most for me.
While I don’t think it’s essential that poets “explain” their work, I did really appreciate the notes at the end which gave context to some of the works - they are connections I otherwise would have missed so I found the guidance helpful!
Wonderful words, and I can’t wait to read more of Barnes’ work! Thanks to the author for sending me a copy to review.
