This was a fun YA horror thriller. I liked the homage to 90's horror, very specifically, Scream, which is my favorite horror movie. I liked the time travel aspect. However, there was a moment pretty early on in the book that stood out for me, and I was able to pick out the killer really early on. So finishing the book for me was, how do you get there and not who did it.

I didn't like the main character. She was just kinda ran around like a chicken with her head cut off, which is a normal reaction in this situation. But I like my MCs in a horror novel with a little more grit. I also really wasn't a fan of the ending.

If I recommended the book, I would say, pick it up for the horror but for not the mystery part.

I loved Danielle Valentineā€™s Two Sides to Every Murder so I was excited to read this one as well. I really enjoyed it. Love the slasher vibe with nods and mentions to all the slasher/horror movies from the 90s plus some current true crime podcasts.

I liked that there were many characters with different subplots that had you suspicious and guessing everyone at some point. I did end up guessing what happened but thatā€™s only because I am a thriller/mystery fanatic and didnā€™t take away from the book at all.

I unfortunately thought the ending was abrupt and left some unexplained storylines. I was thankful for the *bonus chapter* that added a bit of clarity/confirmation of what I suspected.

Overall loved this slasher, thriller, time travel/supernatural-ish  with a dash of romance type of read and would recommend it along with Two Sides to Every Murder.

ā™” Slasher Movie
ā™” Light Time Travel
ā™” Questionable Ending

Definitely had the Happy Death Day vibe (though I havenā€™t watched that yet) when it came to the time travel.  Getting to live the role of a character stuck in a slasher movie and seeing how it changed with each decision Alice made.

It was entertaining to hear all the horror movie references and conversations about how things would play out if it were a movie.  Iā€™d definitely watch this if it gets an adaptationā€¦ but what the hell was that ending?!

Being a massive horror fan I had some trouble with the takes at beginning of this book but once it settled into the whodunit, this was written in crack format. I read this so fast, you could definitely read it in one sitting. The end will have you feeling torn. I liked it as is but I would read a sequel if Danielle Valentine decided to write one. I liked this book and would recommend it to someone who wanted an easy horror read.

This has a perfectly reasonable ending if you're into horror, but it wasn't satisfying for me.

Otherwise, I appreciated the twists and turns throughout the rest of it.
