Honestly, would've rated it higher if not for the disappointing ending. It just doesn't make sense based on how the main character feels about the overall situation.
But I guess any information/evidence implicating the killer, could also be used against MC :(

Overall, it's a good Halloween read. Closest in vibes I can think of is the Netflix movie "There's Someone Inside Your House."

I loved Danielle Valentineā€™s Two Sides to Every Murder so I was excited to read this one as well. I really enjoyed it. Love the slasher vibe with nods and mentions to all the slasher/horror movies from the 90s plus some current true crime podcasts.

I liked that there were many characters with different subplots that had you suspicious and guessing everyone at some point. I did end up guessing what happened but thatā€™s only because I am a thriller/mystery fanatic and didnā€™t take away from the book at all.

I unfortunately thought the ending was abrupt and left some unexplained storylines. I was thankful for the *bonus chapter* that added a bit of clarity/confirmation of what I suspected.

Overall loved this slasher, thriller, time travel/supernatural-ish  with a dash of romance type of read and would recommend it along with Two Sides to Every Murder.

ā™” Slasher Movie
ā™” Light Time Travel
ā™” Questionable Ending

Definitely had the Happy Death Day vibe (though I havenā€™t watched that yet) when it came to the time travel.  Getting to live the role of a character stuck in a slasher movie and seeing how it changed with each decision Alice made.

It was entertaining to hear all the horror movie references and conversations about how things would play out if it were a movie.  Iā€™d definitely watch this if it gets an adaptationā€¦ but what the hell was that ending?!

Okay, I actually loved this!! It had me at the edge of my seat literally from the start and kept me guessing until the very end! While there was one point that I was pretty positive I knew who the killer was (and I was right), the author did such a good job at making me constantly second guess myself and also unraveled everything so cleverly! I also did not expect that ending!! Half of me was like ā€œNOOOOā€ but the other half was like ā€œdang, that was such a good twist!!!ā€ Just very much enjoyed this one from beginning to end!
