I would highly recommend that you read Luck and Death at the Edge of the World by the same author as a prerequisite to this novella. This novella expands on an encounter mentioned in passing in the first book and goes off into a tangent about the consequences of that incident. It is an interesting and quick read, but it felt too short for a standalone novella, so IMO it would probably have been better served in an a book with several such stories about characters mentioned in the first book, but this is just my opinion.
Would I recommend this book to others? Probably only if they really liked Luck and Death at the Edge of the World. Also, the price compared to the content seems disproportionate to the first book in this universe, but again that is my opinion.
