This was really all over the place for me. I read up afterwards that it’s a continuation of the mcr album but it should be able to stand alone. Interesting story just not executed greatly.

Such a cool concept. Loved the music videos that precede this. However, there are many storyline gaps that I would like filled. More Killjoys, please!!!!

Fantastic story but I spent at least 30 pages thinking Val was called Yal Yelocity.

I really wanted to give the book 5 stars because I'm a Gerard Way stan, but the story felt like it moved at a weird pace. The art was lovely, though the text was a little small but that might have been the settings on my e-reader. It was very humanizing to see Korse get a story line, despite killing the Killjoys in the Sing music video. I wanted more. The final battle felt like it resolved to quickly that it barely happened.
This story didn't so much answer my questions from the lore of the music videos, but added to it. If Way ever decides to revisit this concept, I would be onboard to read more.

Wonderful art, compelling story - I just wish a little more time was spent with all the different plot elements. The story follows three different characters with three different stories that...sort of converge at the end. A lot of build-up, but not enough spent on the actual climax, in my opinion. Even just a few more pages spent on each plotline would have made them feel like they meshed together, instead of being three plot threads that just happen at the same time. I'll still read the next one in the series though - I really do enjoy the groundwork this comic (and the mcr ablum) laid, and I'm hoping for more story and more context.
