Shy Londoner Henry is pressured by his eccentric family to return to their Somerset estate and settle down. To escape their matchmaking during the impending birthday celebrations, he hires struggling actress Libby to be his fake girlfriend. Free spirit Libby jumps at the chance for a quick payday, but neither are prepared for the ensuing chaos—or their growing attraction.

SO. MUCH. FUN. This book is absolutely brilliant: emotional and heartwarming while also laugh-out-loud funny. I love Henry’s family and can’t wait to listen to the rest of the books in the series, perfectly narrated by the author.

Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.

This was too long, my god, if I didn't have to read it for the book club I would've stopped at about 30%. Didn't give a rat's ass about the characters and what could have been a fun and somewhat interesting family dynamic, turned out to be just backround noise

I loved “Love ad Lib,” it was another amazing read by Evie Alexander!!! It’s the first book in her Foxbrooke series, and it has some of my favorite tropes, including grumpy/sunshine, opposites attract, fake dating, and only one bed. Henry and Libby’s relationship may have started off with a contract, but I could sense the slowly building chemistry between them from their very first encounter. Henry is the perfect gentleman, and I loved how concerned he was about keeping Libby safe and comfortable. As for Libby, I thought she was super sweet and just needed to realize that she shouldn’t let people take advantage of her kind heart. This was absolutely a 5 star read for me!!!

So Book 3 in this series intrigued me, so I decided to go back to the beginning. Each book is a different member of the Foxbrooke family but it's always good to start, well at the start!

I loved Libby! She would do absolutely anything for you. Most definitely the sunshine in this story. I loved her story with Henry. How they met, and how they fell in love. Who doesn't love a fake boyfriend/girlfriend story? It always wins me over. Playing on the regency theme of Elizabeth Bennett and Mr Darcy just gave it that bit extra as we watch the inner turmoil and love, all through a contract. Throw in your "bad guy" with an absolute douche of a guy and you are on to the winner. Man, he was a douche, a low-life sponger too. I was screaming at Libby to see right through him.

Henry's family are just a scream, I'm not sure I could live in their set-up but I loved everything about them and it. It was hilarious, although I wouldn't want to be woken with my cuppa like that LOL. I loved Estelle and I can't wait to read more about her! Gram Gram what a hoot, and nothing gets past her. Everything just worked for me. I did listen to the audiobook and I do have to say, I didn't like the way Libby was voiced, her voice did sound too childish so it did put me off a bit. But the story was strong enough to carry me through as I fell in love with the characters Can't wait for the next steamy, and boy these are steamy rom-coms!

"You're something else, Libby Fletcher. I've never met anyone quite like you before."

"And I've never met anyone quite like you, Henry Foxbrooke."

Love ad Lib will have you laughing so uncontrollably you can hardly breathe, raging against an absolutely loathsome "ex", tensing at the ANGST (ahhh!!!) and swooning at the steamy chemistry (it's REALLY steamy) and heartfelt romance (my heart!).

It makes you want to talk about absolutely everything that happens within its pages: from meddling family to embarrassingly eccentric parents to an acerbic and wily grandmother to a cat named Mr. P (OMG) to a love affair with Mr. Darcy and a tight wet shirt . . .  But not wanting to spoil everything!

Grumpy/sunshine, fake-dating, one-bed and everything you could want in a rom-com goodness all wrapped into one. Libby and Henry's story is utterly charming, wonderfully steamy, delightfully humorous, and I cannot wait to read the *extended epilogue* (I need it NOW!) and devour the rest of the Foxbrooke series as it unfolds!

That was a lot of exclamation points, but Love ad Lib deserves every one; I adore Libby and Henry!

I love the characters, they had me laughing out loud at times. I couldn't put the book down, I was so freaking eager to find out what happened next.

What I loved most about this book was the diverse romance. The author is definitely someone I would read more from in the future.

I received an Advance Review Copy of this book from BookSirens, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
