Finally got around to reading this and I’m so happy I did. I have no idea why I was avoiding it, but I realize now what a mistake that had been. I can really see the theme of “following your dreams” come up again in Ichigo’s work, but there is also an undeniable difference and progress in style and storytelling from Dreamin’ Sun. I can’t wait to discover the beauty of Orange as well and read the second volume of Become You, whenever that might be.

I think this work of art is something that you can only enjoy  to the fullest while rereading it with all the knowledge you‘ve gained. If I did that, It‘d probably be a 5/5, now it is a 4/5, although still very good and worth it

Seventeen year old Taiyou has dreams of becoming a musician. But his bandmates quit in order to focus on school and Taiyou feels his dream slipping away. In desperation, he ask his classmate Hikari to join the band with him. They are total opposites but they might create something amazing.
Ichigo Takano is one of my favorite manga writers so when I heard she had a new manga out, I was excited. I love her other two series and was excited to start one from the very beginning. I really enjoyed this.
I found Taiyou to be a character who sometimes can be a bit irksome. He's someone who is always pushing to be positive but has a lot of pain in his past. However, sometimes he pushes when he should really leave people alone. Sometimes, I found his pushiness to be a bit much for me.
I really enjoyed the side characters in this, in particular Hikari. He's a character I vibe better with and that I really enjoyed. I feel like there is a huge backstory with Hikari that will show up in later volumes. I want to know more about him and his past with music.
Overall, I found this to be a good start to a new manga series. I am excited to see where Ichigo Takano is going to take this story.

This is labeled as "volume 1" but why does it feel like it ended? If there's a volume 2 I won't be mad, but I'm also okay with it being a one and done? It was cute and I absolutely love the art style, but I wasn't completely blown away by the story.
