Another fantastic steamy shifter romance, it had plenty of mystery and intrigue as well as the characters that we have gone to know and love! I am so impressed by the depth of character we got to see with Jake and I can tell that he might have found his mate but we haven't heard the end of his story!! The individual story is great, but the developing plot of the series is fabulous and can't wait to get the next instalment and hear Nate's story.

Jake and Harper are both more than we thought they were. Smarter, more nuanced, more damaged. Their attraction was instant, but can they be mates? In their story and the overarching story of the Purists there are twists and surprises. This community of shifters has that small town, know everybody feel that draws you in and you care about all of them. I love that these stories are so complex yet fits so well into the puzzle that is this series.

What happens?
Harper is a shifter because she is bitten accidentally during her stay in the area. As she adjusts to life a shifter she knows that her true mate Jake is the one for her but he doesn't want to acknowledge this.
Final thoughts
Its a nice read and I liked Jake even though he is the grumpy one out of the crew.

Harper is a newly turned Fox shifter, still coming to terms with all her new abilities. But her irritability is at an all time high. Her neighbour, the handsome but infuriating Jake is not helping matters. He struts around in the buff all the time and Harpers sex drive is about to implode!!
Jake is a former soldier, hounded out when they realised he was a shifter. His grasp on his anger and rage always seems to be at breaking point and he refers to himself as the team psychopath. His anger has an outlet at present, finding the traitors and "interrogating" them. But with the tangles web of feelings involving Harper closing in on him, Jake may have more problems than even he can handle!
I loved Harper and Jake's story. Jake is alpha and stubborn but far from being a psycho, he just has anger management issues and genuine frustrations in the Mate department! Harper hasn't had a great run with men either so she has her own issues to content with. My heart broke a little when we hear Jake's back story, especially where the "General" is concerned. I'm glad to see that Heather may just be ready to face a certain carefree shifter and open her heart to love again!
