I truly had no idea what this was about going in, and that was both good and bad. Bad, because the main plot point was kinda goofy, and it just didn’t work for me. Good, because all the motherhood satire was hitting too close to home, and I like to hurt my own feelings. Overall, it was a good lil palate cleanser that still hit me where it hurt, occasionally

I loved how this author explored the difficulties of motherhood and being a woman in general through a sci fi lens. The pace was slow at times, but I feel like it was intentional so we could get to know each character well and understand the unique struggles each faced. I'm hoping my mom will read it and give me her opinions on motherhood and how she may or may not have related to the feelings in this book.
