This was an intriguing read based on the premise (YA criminal minds) and lives up to that. It was a bit more gory/intense than I anticipated but it’s to be expected when serial killers are involved. This was a quick read because there’s almost no depth to these characters. Cassie is just a girl whose defining features include her mother dying five years ago and that she is naturally good at profiling people. She felt very bland and while the other characters are more interesting, it’s not by much. The quality of the writing is mediocre. I appreciated the twist at the end though I saw it coming right before the reveal. This book is unique enough and I enjoyed this book enough that I will continue the series, though I will just be borrowing from the library.

Very fast paced, crazy ending in my opinion none of my assumptions were right. Characters are a little bit bland but it’s a short book

It’s a super easy read, and great for when you want a break from classics or anything that makes your brain hurt a bit. The characters are also pretty lovable, and the plot is well-paced and can really catch you off-guard, which I like. I couldn’t put it down and can’t wait to read the next one.

Literally obsessed 🤩

Usually I stray away from YA reads because they read very immature or the characters are younger than the age they are. This did not. It almost felt like the characters were older or maybe too mature for their age. Given the circumstances, it makes sense if they are. Currently Team Dean. I cannot wait to read the other books in the series. I can tell I’m going to be sad when it is all over 🥲

Also, can someone make this into a TV series….hello Apple?

This book was an amazing intriguing story that has the reader second guessing on who they think is responsible all the way to the end. I would highly recommend to any true crime or mystery fan.

If you’re a true crime lover, you will love this! I literally read this in under 8 hours, and I really enjoyed it. I seriously could not put it down. This is a very good YA mystery with plot twists that I truly did not expect. This book provides so much background and insight to allow the reader to truly get into the kind of the killer, and act as a profiler, like the main character. That, plus love triangles, family secrets, and drama. The highly suspenseful novel truly keeps you hooked from the first page to the last, leaving you wanting more. I have to read the other books. This is about serial killers, so I would beware of that, but I think it’s on the same level as more serious crime tv shows, so not suitable for younger audiences.
I kinda like Micheal more than Dean for Cassie, but I’m not sure. Also I did not expect Locke to be the killer, I thought for sure it was Dean. And like, who killed her mother??? I have to read the other books.
