Take Jimmy Buffett and Phillip Marlowe and throw their vibes into a blender, mix well, and you've got Travis Mcgee.
This was my first venture into John MacDonald and Travis Mcgee and I'm definitely coming back for more. When Buffett sang the opening lyrics in Incommunicado
"Travis McGee's still in Cedar Key
That's what ol' John MacDonald said"
I knew I'd discover something worthwhile behind those lyrics, I just never expected Phillip Marlowe turned beach bum and that's something I never knew I needed but am I ever glad I got just that.
To the reviewer who said that this book could be called "Sunny Noir, " you were 100% right.
