The final battle has been won but what happens when benevolent creatures have learned only to fight, to hold only sword? Forgiveness is a difficult thing when vengeance feels so much easier to indulge in. These are the themes of this the 6th installment in the series and as always Dalglish handles the topics without a heavy hand and with characters that are utterly charming, realistic and profoundly human (even when they're not). Not afraid to pull any punches, the author will put characters through trial and some even death for the purpose of sticking to story. It's refreshing and endearing however much the shock still lingers from someone passing. That there are more stories to come is ridiculously awesome.
