I’d hoped that by staying and going into the rehab program would provide kelia with an opportunity to spread some awareness and maybe stage some resistance? But no. She makes 0 friends and spends the entire book chasing down information her “lover” already has (like.. who his sister is lol so dumb)

Then after everything, she goes back to the fortress to get the journal cus she refused to read the missing pages the entire two weeks where she had nothing else to do.

Oh and since she thought it was a brilliant idea to tell everyone she was a fangwhore, the entire compound is now chasing her. Done with this series.

Great sequel for this series.

Really progressed the story and finally told us some details that were left hanging at the end of the first book.

Kelia experienced less indecision in this book for which I was very thankful, it got quite annoying in the previous story. Probably only due to the fact that in the position she was in, there were very little choices she had everything.

Although for some reason, one phrase which was used a lot and really bugged me. I don't know if it was just overused or just me. She kept saying 'I broke my fast' when she woke up and had breakfast. It wasn't a fast! You just didn't eat whilst asleep! I would have been alright if it had only been used once or twice, but it was every freaking morning. Possibly just bugged me, but oh well.

I was also quite annoyed at all these characters expecting Kelia to know something but not discussing it at all, and then calling her ignorant for not knowing anything. And also keeping information from her to 'protect her' but letting her go into dangerous situations to find this information out, and then being mad she did it! If you had just told her in the first place, none of this would have happened!

I do not like the trope of withholding information from a character (especially a male not telling a female) in order to protect them. It seems very sexist and a bit of a lazy plot point. I would have liked a lot more communication and more investigation.

However, even though I have criticised this boo slightly, I still enjoyed it. I love a pirate story what can I say? I will definitely be looking out for the finale of this series and finally meet this mysterious Queen....

This is an excellent second book in the series. You learn more about the world that Keila and Drew inhabit and are introduced to characters that add to the story. Can't wait for the next one.

Another great book in this series. We find answers for many of the questions that Kelia has been trying to find. What a bunch of wackos those society people are. Thankfully Kelia and Drew decide in the end that they are attracted to one another. Although the urgency to read the next book in the series is not as great as between the first book and this one the story has much more to tell. There were some surprises with regard to some of the characters, ones that were liked earlier on in the series were not so by the end and others that were not very nice were found to be good.
