Odette is practically fearless, but even she knows that her recent uptick in seeing ghosts is a bad omen. With music as a crutch, Clarice reflects on her life and disillusionment with her philandering husband. Barbara Jean has endured misfortune and death for as long as she’s been beautiful–so her whole life. Tight since the ‘60s when the trio was nicknamed The Supremes, new obstacles trigger their evolution in the mid ‘00s. I love a good historical friend group story, and this was even more charming since all the friends stayed local to their small hometown. It had heart, wit, and humor.
